Hello there! I’m Ben Pokorny. I’m a visual effects and finish artist currently living in Chicago.

 

I found myself working in visual effects because I love puzzles. I love seeing a problem, and then going into my bag of digital tools to find the right fix, the right tool for the job. Whether it’s freezing time and letting the camera float through still mists, making sure that phone screen matches perfectly as someone swipes to the next page, or just getting rid of that coffee cup someone completely forgot in the back of the shot, I love it. There’s always something to learn, always a new trick to perfect, and always a way to keep moving forward.

 

For the future, I hope to be able to keep working on new and exciting projects, being able to challenge myself, to learn new software, new ways to bring a bit of VFX magic to whatever I work on. Whether it’s something people will look at and go “How did you do that?” or “What did you do?” never knowing how many hours it took to make that shot look perfect. I can’t wait to see what the next project will be, what I’ll be able to help bring to life next.
